Job Description Summary

Marketing Alliance Group (MAG) is currently seeking an experienced System Administrator to join our team. The System Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of computer software, hardware and networks. S/He will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting our company’s computer systems.

The System Administrator will design and oversee local area networks, wide area networks, and network segments. Daily tasks may include installing, upgrading and monitoring software and hardware. The System Administrator will maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, web-servers, email, laptop, and desktop PCs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer and support core Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet and VMware technologies
  • Design, install and configure internal and customer facing servers, network devices and firewalls
  • Proactively manage and maintain server, network and firewall systems.
  • Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments and contingency plans
  • Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will make a hands-off environment
  • Define and document best practices and support procedures
  • Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance
  • Interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required.
  • Integrate data storage solutions (SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
  • Help maintain quality standards, organization, and automatization
  • Maintain inventory, asset and site configuration documentation
  • Assist with hardware, firewall, telecom and software vendor evaluation, recommendation and negotiations
  • Mentor / cross train team members on existing and new technologies
  • Carry out special tasks at Management's direction

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related area) preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience supporting a Microsoft Windows Server Environment (2008/2012/2016) /desktop Operating Systems (Windows7, Windows 10, MAC OS X)
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSE) or equivalent certification in relevant programs desired.
  • Supporting an infrastructure environment with more than 50 Windows Server and 500 plus workstations at multiple connected locations
  • Managing deployments / rollouts of workstations, applications and networking equipment
  • Managing Microsoft Terminal Server installations
  • Managing multiple VMWare Server / ESX 6.0 and higher environments
  • Group Policy design and configuration
  • Microsoft IIS configuration and administration
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 configuration and administration
  • Active Directory / LDAP user and group administration
  • A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking with the ability to troubleshoot network issues including back bone infrastructure issues
  • LAN Routing and Switching design, configuration and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Subnetting, 802.1Q trunks)
  • Firewall / Unified Threat Management appliance configuration and administration
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional - CCNA/ CCNP MCITP Server will be a plus
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length
  • Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently
  • Must be a team player
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server Administration is a plus
  • Experience implementing automated image deployment and patching platforms is a plus

Experience:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and above. 3+ years (Required)
  • Cisco Networking (WAN / LAN): 3+ years (Required)
  • VMware ESXi 5.5 and above: 3 years (Required)
